Dr. Adams is a part-owner at SmileTown, and he’s proud to be a part of such an amazing group of people. His favorite part of his job is working with kids—he loves their energy and curiosity, and he finds the way they view the world inspiring. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Adams was an undergraduate student studying health sciences when he realized that dentistry was a perfect blend of art and science. Anaesthesia has allowed him to take his career in a direction that he could have only dreamt of when he was young. He loves the opportunity to blend dentistry and anaesthesia into a career that he finds intellectually stimulating and rewarding.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Adams completed his undergraduate studies at McMaster (Hamilton) and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Western University in London, Ontario. He went on to pursue a master's degree and complete a dental anesthesiology residency at the University of Toronto.
He’s a board-certified dentist anaesthesiologist as well as a Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiolgy. He also served as a past president of the Ontario Board of Anaesthesiology and is currently active with the Canadian Academy of Dental Anaesthesia on the patient safety working group. Dr. Adams is also an active member of the Ontario Dental Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Originally from Hamilton, Dr. Adams loves spending time with his wife and two daughters. He has a lot of dentists in his family— his wife, both of her sisters, and their husbands, and both of her parents! Outside of the dental office, you can find him spending lots of time in nature tending to his farm.
