When Will My Child Start Losing Baby Teeth?

Each child is different, so while many will start losing their baby teeth by the age of six, this process may begin earlier or later for some children. It is generally the teeth located at the front of the mouth that first become loose and fall out. Over time, the remaining teeth will be replaced with adult ones. By the time your child reaches 10-12 years of age, they will start to lose their molars, only to have them replaced with permanent ones at the start of adolescence, which is the age of 13.

Dental Services for School-Aged Children

At SmileTown: Just Kids Dentistry, our three convenient practices provide appropriate services for school-aged children, some of which include:

  • Dental Sealants
  • Fluoride Treatment
  • Tooth-Colored Fillings/Crowns
  • Athletic Mouthguards

These preventive and restorative services are integral to the successful growth and development of their smile. If you want to maximize the amount of time they spend in the classroom and avoid frequent trips to the dentist’s office to address a cavity or sudden tooth pain, it’s important to maintain regular checkups and cleanings and pursue other preventive solutions for their smile.
